joe scherbenco General A little online research revealed that Modern Tire Recappers was located in Talladega, AL & ACL did run through that town. 1/28/2011 4:17:38 PM

joe scherbenco General oops, sorry for the 2X posting 1/28/2011 4:18:33 PM
Uncle Joe Oates General Might have been a Modern Recapper in Talladega, but I don't think this is Talladega.Looks like a six axle engine forth back. These cam in then early 60's.In 1964 ACL did not have passenger service to Talledega.I think this is Wilson,NC,looking north.Uncle Joe 1/28/2011 6:48:15 PM
Donnie Strickland General I don't know where else it is, but it's definitely not Talladega. 1/28/2011 7:03:02 PM
George Redmond General Good shot, Good catch. 1/31/2011 12:40:20 PM
Mike Woodruff General Likely no earlier than mid-1964. Fourth unit back is a GE U25C - ACL received their first order of these in 12/63, and the foliage behind the F and the shirtsleeves on the people at far left show that this was not a wintertime scene. 1/31/2011 10:39:54 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Nice shot 2/1/2011 7:33:28 PM
Bernie Feltman General Excellent photo 2/9/2011 10:04:13 PM
JR Morton General No doubt, Wilson, NC. PSGR train northbound on the West Track is 376 & FRT southbound on the East Track is either #105 or #109. Would bet its 109 account of the power. This was the hottest southbound at the time and regularly ran with six or seven units. I was there then On the Richmond Division thanks for showing how it really was; a guy had to 'walk a mile" when an engine alarm bell went off with consists like this. 5/19/2013 7:20:35 PM
warren evans General Better check the Date of this Picture. The fourth unit back is a U25C. U25Cs for the ACL. were built between 12-63 & 11-65. And ACL. Just started repainting there engines from Purple to Black in 1959 & 1960. And the Condition of 433. is pretty worn It as if the should 1966. And 433. is Ex-ACL. 878. which was Renumbered in 1965. i 4/25/2014 11:12:33 PM
